update for Murrells Field
We are pleased to share that the construction phase of the works to Murrell’s Field have now been completed in line with the approximate timeline given. The final stage, grass seed sown and fertilised, was completed on 26th September. It is expected that we should see the first sign of grass growing within the next couple of weeks.
In line with the timeline of works the next stages are as follows:
The field remains closed to the public until April 2026 to allow the grass to grow. We ask the public to respect the closure and not to access the field during this time as this could delay the completion of the works.
Safety fencing will soon be moved and the north-west path will be reopened (access via Church Lane).
A six month maintenance programme which will consist of mowing, overseeing, decompaction work and selective weed control spray.
In response to feedback, we are taking measures to reduce any potential water run off from the field.
